The Handle
We are able to produce both plastic and wooden handles in any shapes, colours and sizes required. The handle is an important part of the brush as it must give the user the correct feel and be shaped to be correctly used and comfortably held in the hand.
The Ferrule
This is the piece that joins the brush handle to the brush hair. This piece of the brush is vital as it ensures that both the brush handle and brush hair stay together creating a long lasting quality brush. This can be coloured to specification.
The Brush Hair
Brush Hair can be made from of all sorts of different materials. From Nylon for Synthetic Hair to Goat, Sable, Squirrel and Fox hair, Pony hair. Each material has different properties and benefits and are used for different types of brushes. With each type of material, there are also different grades of hair. The higher the grade, the better quality of hair and in the end, the better quality brush. All hairs can be coloured or left in its natural state.
The look, feel and usage of each makeup brush is determined by a number of different factors.

4. The curve of the brush hair
5. The cut- shape of the brush hair

Goat Hair is one of the most effective types of hair to pick up makeup powder on its bristles and layer it smoothly and evenly onto the skin.
It is ideal for buffing and can be used in blending brushes. It brings shine and vibrancy to the skin.
Pony Hair is the most common type of hair for soft cheek, contour and powder brushes where thick colour deposits are required.
Pony Hair does not come to a point but splays and hence lends itself well for blending/mixing brushes.
It is less rough than goat hair and is also finer. ‘A Grade’ Pony Hair comes from the belly of the pony which is the highest quality.Squirrel Hair is durable and fine, yet quite thick. It is often made into brushes that need conical shapes. It is the softest natural hair that can be used to create makeup brushes.
Squirrel Hair is ideal for blending heavy pigment, which is why it is commonly used for eye-shadow brushes. Often, this hair is blended with other types of hair to reduce cost and this should be checked carefully when buying or making a brush.
Sable is the strongest, yet the most soft of the common hairs used in makeup brushes. Brushes made from this material are often more expensive than other brushes but they last a very long time before needing replacement if proper care of them is taken. These brushes maintain their shape very well and are used often in brushes where a point is needed, such as those for creating fine lines of colour around the eye where precise application is required.
Badger Hair has the firmest bristles of all the most commonly used hair. It is ideal for eyebrow brushes, fan brushes, bronzer brushes and shaver brushes.
High-quality badger hair has a natural light and dark brown colour, whilst lower quality badger hair is grey and is commonly used for shaving brushes. Although badger hair is extremely firm, it also feels soft and has an elastic quality. This means it won’t scratch the face.
High-grade Sustainable Synthetic Fibres
The brush hairs are all identical and hence all brushes will be exactly the same and show no irregularities. The colour of the material is often dyed to resemble the same colours that animal hair exhibit. This hair is also a good material to use to create art brushes.
That the material allows it to hold makeup products better to achieve an even better finish than with natural bristles. A blend of different types of synthetic fibres is also used to achieve ease of use, for application of any type of makeup product such as powder, liquid and cream.
Some of our consumers, especially millennials and the Generation Z, are concerned about cruelty-free brushes. They support cruelty-free, they want products that are safe to use and does not contain animal ingredients.
Most synthetic brushes use high-grade sustainable synthetic fibres that mimic and even surpass the quality and function of natural hair.
With the availability of high-tech synthetic fibres that perform just as well or even better than natural animal hair makeup brushes, there is no reason to use animal hair makeup brushes.
Synthetic fibres are much easier to take care, you can wash as many times as you want without damaging the quality of the fibres.
